Sometimes you just need to indulge your playful side, and for me, that means a delicious plate of poutine. It’s messy, fun, and absolutely delicious!
Classic Poutine
Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup beef gravy (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup fresh cheese curds
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 7-10 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
- While fries are hot, heat gravy in a small saucepan until simmering.
- Place hot fries into serving bowls. Immediately scatter cheese curds over the fries.
- Pour hot gravy over the fries and curds, allowing the curds to melt slightly. Serve immediately.
