PlayfulCanadaPoutine

Sometimes you just need to indulge your playful side, and for me, that means a delicious plate of poutine. It’s messy, fun, and absolutely delicious!

Classic Poutine

30 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup beef gravy (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup fresh cheese curds
  • Salt to taste

Steps

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 7-10 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
  3. While fries are hot, heat gravy in a small saucepan until simmering.
  4. Place hot fries into serving bowls. Immediately scatter cheese curds over the fries.
  5. Pour hot gravy over the fries and curds, allowing the curds to melt slightly. Serve immediately.
