When I’m absolutely ravenous, nothing satisfies my hunger quite like a platter of sizzling churrasco. The smoky, perfectly grilled meats are a feast for the senses.

Brazilian Style Grilled Steak (Churrasco)

30 mins • Easy

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak or picanha
  • Coarse sea salt
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Chimichurri sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Grilled vegetables for serving

Steps

  1. Pat steak dry. Season generously with coarse sea salt and black pepper on all sides.
  2. Preheat grill to high heat. Brush steak lightly with olive oil.
  3. Grill steak for 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. For picanha, grill fat side down first.
  4. Remove from grill, tent with foil, and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with chimichurri and grilled vegetables.
