Whenever my curiosity for new culinary experiences kicks in, I love to try making homemade dumplings. The process is a fun challenge, and the reward is so delicious!
Simple Pork and Cabbage Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 cups shredded napa cabbage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 package (50 count) round dumpling wrappers
- Water for sealing
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground pork, shredded cabbage, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water.
- Fold the wrapper in half to form a semi-circle, crimping the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
- Steam dumplings for 8-10 minutes, or pan-fry until golden brown on the bottom and then steam with a little water until cooked through. Serve with dipping sauce.
