Quick Chicken Biryani

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken pieces
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp biryani paste
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Steps

  1. Marinate chicken with biryani paste and yogurt for 30 minutes.
  2. Sauté sliced onion until golden. Add marinated chicken and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  3. In a separate pot, cook basmati rice until 70% done. Layer rice over chicken.
  4. Cover tightly and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes until chicken is tender and rice is cooked. Garnish with cilantro.
