Feeling a bit homesick today, so I’m making my granny’s Shepherd’s Pie. It always brings me back to simpler times and warm family dinners.
Hearty Shepherd's Pie
Ingredients
- 500g ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1kg potatoes, mashed
- 1/2 cup beef broth
Steps
- Brown meat with onion and carrots in a pan, then add peas and broth. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Spoon the meat mixture into an oven-safe dish.
- Top with mashed potatoes and bake at 180C (350F) for 30 minutes until golden brown.
