Grandma's Simple Apple Pie
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 6 medium apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Steps
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Peel, core, and slice apples. In a large bowl, toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour apple mixture into the pie crust. Dot with butter.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 35-45 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
