Classic Beef Chili con Carne
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 1 cup beef broth
Steps
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven. Brown ground beef; drain excess fat. Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally, allowing flavors to meld.
