When I’m feeling creative and want to experiment, making a homemade pizza is my go-to. It’s a blank canvas for flavors, and I love seeing what delicious combinations I can invent!

Homemade Margherita Pizza

45 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup passata (tomato sauce)
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 450F (230C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  2. Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. Spread passata evenly over the dough, leaving a small crust. Arrange mozzarella slices on top. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Carefully transfer pizza to the hot stone/baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  5. Remove from oven, scatter fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve immediately.
