Whenever my curiosity for new culinary experiences kicks in, I love to try making homemade dumplings. The process is a fun challenge, and the reward is so delicious!

Simple Pork and Cabbage Dumplings

45 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 cups shredded napa cabbage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 package (50 count) round dumpling wrappers
  • Water for sealing

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, shredded cabbage, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  2. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water.
  3. Fold the wrapper in half to form a semi-circle, crimping the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  4. Steam dumplings for 8-10 minutes, or pan-fry until golden brown on the bottom and then steam with a little water until cooked through. Serve with dipping sauce.
