Easy Individual Chocolate Soufflés

40 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter and sugar two ramekins.
  2. Melt chocolate in a microwave or double boiler. Stir in milk and flour until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in egg yolks.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold a third of the egg whites into the chocolate mixture, then fold in the remaining egg whites until just combined. Divide batter between ramekins.
  5. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until risen and set. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
