Sometimes when I’m deep in thought, I just want something simple and satisfying like hummus with warm pita bread. It’s a humble dish that lets my mind wander.

Quick Homemade Hummus

10 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 (15-oz) can chickpeas (drained, rinsed)
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2-4 tbsp cold water
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Steps

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt.
  2. Process until smooth, slowly adding cold water 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired creamy consistency is reached.
  3. Transfer hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Serve immediately with warm pita bread or vegetables.
