mellowNew Zealandberry crumble

On a mellow afternoon, a warm berry crumble is just what I need. It’s simple, sweet, and reminds me of slow summer days back home.

Easy Berry Crumble

40 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed (for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, gently toss berries with granulated sugar and cornstarch. Pour into an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter with your fingers or a pastry blender until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over the berries. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Serve warm.
