When I’m feeling sweet and want to share a treat, baking a batch of fudgy brownies is my absolute favorite. There’s just something so heartwarming about gifting homemade goodies!

Fudgy Chocolate Brownies

45 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Steps

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  2. 2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Stir in sugar until combined. Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  4. 4. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the edge comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter). Cool completely before cutting.
