Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
