Creamy Swiss Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream for topping

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in milk. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until hot and steamy (do not boil).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream if desired. Serve warm.
