Just finished a big project and feeling super accomplished! Time to reward myself with a classic steak frites, a perfect celebratory meal.

Simple Steak Frites

20 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • Sirloin steak
  • Potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut potatoes into fries, toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then bake until crispy.
  2. Season steak generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat with a little olive oil until smoking. Sear steak for 2-4 minutes per side for desired doneness.
  4. Let steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving immediately with the frites.
