Simple California Roll
Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice, cooked and seasoned
- 2 sheets nori seaweed
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, julienned
- 2 crab sticks (surimi), split lengthwise
- Soy sauce and wasabi for serving
Steps
- Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo rolling mat. Spread a thin, even layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at one end.
- Arrange avocado, cucumber, and crab sticks in a line across the center of the rice.
- Carefully roll the mat tightly from one end, gently pressing to seal. Moisten the un-riced border to seal the roll.
- Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces using a wet, sharp knife. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
