Classic Shepherd's Pie
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots)
- 0.5 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- Salt and pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brown ground meat and onion in a skillet. Drain fat. Stir in mixed vegetables, beef broth, tomato paste, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Transfer meat mixture to an oven-safe dish. Top with mashed potatoes, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
