Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda, then gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
