When I’m really hungry and need something satisfying, a classic Margherita pizza hits the spot every time. Simple, cheesy, and utterly perfect.

Homemade Margherita Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  2. Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Transfer to parchment paper or a pizza peel.
  3. Spread tomato sauce over the dough, then arrange mozzarella slices. Drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Carefully slide pizza onto the hot stone/sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Top with fresh basil before serving.
