Simple Hot Matcha Latte
Ingredients
- 1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder
- 2 oz hot water (not boiling)
- 6 oz milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tsp sweetener (honey or maple syrup, optional)
Steps
- Sift matcha powder into a small bowl or matcha bowl to prevent lumps.
- Add hot water to the matcha powder. Whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small frother until frothy and smooth.
- Heat milk in a saucepan or microwave until hot but not boiling. If desired, froth the milk.
- Pour the whisked matcha into your mug. Add sweetener if using, then gently pour in the hot milk.
- Stir gently and enjoy the serene moment.
