Classic Apple Crumble
Ingredients
- 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup cold butter, diced
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, combine sliced apples, 1/4 cup sugar, and cinnamon.
- For the crumble topping: In a bowl, combine flour, oats, and remaining 1/4 cup sugar.
- Cut in the cold butter using your fingertips or a pastry blender until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown and crispy. Serve warm, perhaps with ice cream.
