Every time there’s something to celebrate, my first thought is always pizza! Sharing a delicious, cheesy pizza with friends just makes any occasion feel more festive and fun. It’s the ultimate party food!

Classic Margherita Pizza

1 hour 15 minutes (plus dough rise) • Medium

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough ball
  • 1/2 cup passata (tomato puree)
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking steel if possible.
  2. Stretch or roll out pizza dough to desired thickness. Transfer to a floured pizza peel or baking sheet.
  3. Spread passata evenly over the dough, leaving a small crust. Arrange mozzarella slices and sprinkle with salt.
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  5. Remove from oven, drizzle with olive oil, scatter fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve immediately.
