Anytime there’s something to celebrate, big or small, my first thought is always pizza! It’s the ultimate party food, and everyone loves it.
Easy Homemade Margherita Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 lb pre-made pizza dough
- 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes or pizza sauce
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella (sliced or torn)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Pinch of garlic powder
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside for at least 20 minutes.
- Stretch or roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Transfer to parchment paper.
- Spread crushed tomatoes over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Sprinkle with garlic powder and salt.
- Arrange mozzarella slices evenly over the sauce, then scatter fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Carefully transfer the pizza (on parchment) to the hot stone/baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Slice and serve.
