Hearty Shepherd's Pie
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 carrots (chopped)
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup milk
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Heat oil in a large skillet, brown ground meat, then drain fat. Add onion and carrots, cook until softened.
- Stir in peas, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens. Pour mixture into a baking dish.
- Top evenly with mashed potatoes, spreading to the edges. Dot with butter.
