Grandma's Apple Pie

- Pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- Granulated sugar
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Butter

- Prepare pie crust and fit one half into a 9-inch pie plate.
- Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture, dot with small pieces of butter. Top with the second pie crust, crimp edges, and cut vents.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes, then reduce to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 35-45 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
